CORE’s “Serving Up Hope” Campaign Supports F&B Families in Need

Nashville’s 6th & Peabody hosted a pre-game for the Nashville Rodeo, with proceeds benefiting CORE.

CORE, the national nonprofit that provides financial relief to families of food-and-beverage employees navigating health crises, natural disasters or other unexpected challenges, is running its annual Serving Up Hope campaign through October 31.

During the two-month campaign, participating restaurants and partners host fundraising activations, with all proceeds supporting CORE grants. Since its inception four years ago, the Serving Up Hope campaign has raised over a quarter of a million dollars to support F&B families in need—including for employees of catering companies.

This year, 25 sponsors are participating in a variety of ways, from in-store fundraisers to product donations. Restaurants and partners have included Cuba Libre, Margaritaville, Outback West, Shawarma Press and On The Go airport locations, among others.

Margaritaville created the Barton Springs Break cocktail in partnership with CORE.

“Serving Up Hope is about more than fundraising—it’s about our industry standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the people who bring us together around the table,” said Jill Chapman, CORE’s director of corporate partnerships. “Whether through a restaurant checkout donation, a featured cocktail or a community event, this campaign gives everyone a way to make an impact.”

Since its founding, CORE has awarded grants to thousands of families, helping them cover basic needs such as rent, utilities, food and medical expenses. Serving Up Hope ensures the organization can continue to meet the growing demand for support while highlighting the generosity and unity of the hospitality industry.

Grants Available to Catering Employees

Employees of various types of F&B businesses—including catering companies—are eligible to apply for a CORE grant. The size of the company doesn’t matter, but applicants must be working at the food preparation or service level, not in a supplier, corporate or administrative role.
